Special care for elderly rabbits?

by Caroline

Hi
Timmy is a sweet natured, neutered Dutch rabbit who lives with his femaie friend in a very large run. His hutch is raised off the floor to keep it out of draughts and recently he has been less enthusiastic about jumping up into it.

I think he's about 8 years old so maybe he's a bit stiff, so I've put the hutch at ground level.
They have pelleted food, hay - and a little fresh food at bedtime. They are about the right "weight".
Is there any special care for elderly rabbits, that would make him (even) happy(ier)?

Thank you everyone for any advice

At this age, if he is happy you given him a great life ; ) ! Does he interact w/ you as in holding and petting? Does he like you to brush him? Any attention would be the best thing for him! He may surprise you and live awhile longer then you think. Great job giving Timmy a great life. FIVE STARS TO YOU!
