rabbit eating newspaper

by stephen

Hello Susan
If your rabbit is eating newspaper, it is likely the rabbit is looking for, or needing roughage. It may also indicate that the rabbit is just plain bored. If you go to the 'rabbit care' page on this site and look at diet for rabbits, that should help. To start with, make sure there is plenty of fresh hay and the rabbit does not get bored.

Coir matting

by: Anonymous

Your rabbits have this problem. My cockateils have similar type of issues as well. But they are eating everything that is made out of wood.
I hope they stop doing this.

Rabbits eating newspaper

My baby rabbits also eat paper. They love to dig and throw the paper around (they have a large high sided tray of it in my room as a play box) but they also eat it. They have unlimited hay (changed regularly) and pellets (unlimited as they are only babies) and occasional grass.... so perhaps this is 'normal' for domestic rabbits?
