Mites

Hi
I am just looking for suggestions on mites. I currently use Ivomec and finds I can't get rid of these frustrating bugs. Help!

Bought rabbit family and mom has ear mites

I have not had mites in over 20 years and rabbits years when I was a kid we treated it with baby oil is that still one of the protocols or should I be using Ivermectin for 27 days and do a treat The babies with baby oil

I have used olive oil, but you need to keep up the treatment for several weeks.

I use imvocen on goats and pigs and to get rid of mites you actually have to give injection.

I believe you shouldn't have to use all those toxic ear mite treatments!! Because I had the same problem and I heard if you put just 3 drops of vegetable oil at the top of the ear and let it slide down it can help!!! And i tried it with a fluid medicine dropper and I held my rabbit's ears ears together for 3 minutes, because she would shake her head constantly!! I had to repeat this process every day for 28 days, because ear mite larva can live for 27 days, to ensure I had kill them once and for all, try this!!

Not sure about Ivomec (not heard of it), but you have to be really careful with what you use, as some stuff can kill a rabbit. There is a page on this site explaining about mites plus they sell a book on here which has a chapter on mites. Think it will answer your problem
