Lion head maybe has ear mites?

I have a 6m lion head he keeps shaking his head and scratching at it a lot. I don’t visually see any marks or scabs or anything in his ear. But have not picked him up yet either, we have had him 2w now and I am able to pet him, He also will come to me, hoping to get some treats. I am wondering if he needs a vet or can I treat this at home with mineral oil or something?
