Do Netherland Dwarf bunnies sleep with their eyes open?

Hi
I know this might seem like a strange question but we are fostering a ND (Lavender) and have never had a rabbit before. Lavender is very timid and extremely quiet. She lived with a companion since she was young and her companion passed away. The owners no longer wanted her, so we adopted her.
We never see her with her eyes closed...morning, evening , ever. We never see her sleep and we never see eyes closed.

Would anyone be able to shed some light on this ? I would appreciate any thoughts. Also, would a ND get along with a hamster? Apparently, they are good with Guinea Pigs...maybe she is lonely.

Thank you so much, Heather

Yes, they do! NEW

I currently have a young ND rabbit (Cosmo) and he sleeps during the day mostly. But yes he does sleep with his eyes open but if you are wondering how to tell if they are sleeping, the rabbits nose will usually fall into a rhythmic twitch (like how people breath even and deep while asleep) Also most twitching of tail and ears will subside.
