Black dust

by Julie
(Lancs)

Hi

My 10 year old rabbit is moulting more than usual and has black
dust in her fur.

I have checked for fleas and cannot find any.
She is otherwise fairly healthy and is eating but due to her age i am a bit worried. Dont want to go to the vet as it stresses her out.

Any advice please?.

Earwigs NEW
by: Rubrick

I remeber when almost all of my litter of checkered giants and their father had black dust, then i found out it were earwigs that leave a trail of black dust. They are harmless, btw. It then affected my lionhead holland lop mix (just reached 6 months old 4 days ago!) then got earwigs in her cage along with her best friend.

Black Dust
by: Brooke

Earwigs often leave a trail of black dust behind and love rabbit hutches. They are harmless to rabbits, but can be quite annoying.
