Sudden death of rabbit

Hello
My male rabbit, less than a year old has just suddenly died.
He was quiet for about twelve hours but was eating and drinking.
He had a yellowish sticky fluid coming from his bum. I had no time to get him to the vets and he had a fit in my arms, his head was bucking backwards and he died within less than a minute. My vet was shocked at the quickness of it, and offered to do a post mortem but said she may not find the cause. I have another female house bunny who is well but I am most concerned and would like some advice please.
Can anyone help?

I know this does answer your question but I had 2 new Zealand white rabbits that also suddenly died a day apart from each other this week, they were only 8 months old and we had only had them 5 months. The first one looked like it had a stroke as its body was lifeless and only moving its head abit and died about an hour later but we found the other dead when we woke up.
the had fresh water everyday and ate hay and chudleys rabbit royale as that is what the pet shop suggested was best.
can anyone possibly tell me what happened.
